Mental Health Case Management Clinician

Position Overview The County of San Diego is hiring a Mental Health Case Management Clinician to provide adult mental health services. The position is eligible for hire at $90,105.60 annually. Salary and Future Increases June 2026 – 5.17% increase to base pay (3.5% Across-the-Board + 1.67% Market Adjustment Increase) June 2027 – 4.67% increase to base pay (3% Across-the-Board + 1.67% Market Adjustment Increase) Responsibilities Provide case management services to adult clients with serious mental illness. Assist clients and function independently in field work situations. Conduct behavioral health assessments to determine mental health and social service needs of clients. Qualifications An Associate of Arts degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign equivalency in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field AND six years of experience in a mental health setting providing case management services to individuals with serious mental illness, with two years of post‑associate clinical experience. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign equivalency in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field AND four years of experience in a mental health setting providing case management services to individuals with serious mental illness. A master’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign equivalency in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field AND two years of experience in a mental health setting providing case management services to individuals with serious mental illness. A master’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign equivalency in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field (two‑year program) AND an Intern/Associates registration number with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Desirable Credentials Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) Licensed Registered Nurse or equivalent state/ national license Rehabilitation Counselor certification Condition of Employment Prospective candidates will undergo a background check, including fingerprinting, and a pre‑employment medical screening before beginning County employment. Current County employees may be exempt from additional background screening.
