Assist with direct patient care Perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols Assist medical and nursing staff in examining and treating patients Room patients and measure and record height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration Complete patient interviews and histories Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures Assist with physician-ordered procedures, examinations, treatments, and special tests Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples Perform routine laboratory tests on patient samples Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent At least one of: diploma from a Medical Assistant Program; minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience; Military Medic training; EMT-P (Paramedic) training; or equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education Medical Assistant Certification preferred Ability to assist with direct patient care and routine specialized medical procedures Ability to measure and record vital signs Ability to complete patient interviews and histories Ability to prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments Ability to collect blood, urine, and sputum samples Ability to perform routine laboratory tests on samples Core Competencies Demonstrates proficiency in direct patient care, including measuring and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and performing routine laboratory tests.
