Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients upon arrival, collecting vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Prioritize patient care through effective triage, ensuring critical cases receive immediate attention.
• Administer medications, treatments, and physician-ordered interventions while monitoring patient responses and adjusting care plans accordingly.
• Perform emergency and life-saving procedures such as CPR, intubation, and wound management as necessary.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in compliance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
• Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment such as defibrillators, EKG machines, and ventilators.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and emergency response protocols.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working rotating mid and night shifts within a fast-paced emergency environment.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Montana or compact state eligibility.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) experience required.
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
• Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and provide effective care in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
