As a Staff Robotics Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing next generation robotic systems that support joint replacement surgery. Working from our Pittsburgh, PA location, you will collaborate with highly skilled, cross functional teams to take innovative concepts from early design through to production and launch.What will you be doing?Leading electrical design activities for new surgical robotic products from concept through production and launchActing as a technical lead on design teams, working independently while mentoring and supporting other engineersDeveloping electrical system architectures and mixed signal PCBA designs including schematics, component selection and PCB layoutPerforming board bring up, functional testing, troubleshooting and root cause analysis on complex embedded systemsDesigning, assembling and testing prototypes and evaluating performance against requirements and specificationsDeveloping and executing test plans to support design verification and validationLeading and contributing to design reviews, providing technical insight to drive quality and complianceCollaborating closely with electrical, firmware, software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, systems and regulatory partnersEnsuring design documentation and processes comply with quality system and regulatory requirementsWhat will you need to be successful?Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 8 or more years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 or more years of experienceStrong hands on experience designing mixed signal PCBA schematics and layouts using ECAD tools such as AltiumProven experience with embedded systems, 32 bit microcontrollers, board bring up and debugging real time applicationsSolid understanding of communication protocols including SPI, I2C, USB, TCP IP and EtherCATExperience integrating sensors, motors and computing technologies into complex electrical systemsBackground in EMC EMI compliant design and applying DFM DFT principlesExperience working in a regulated environment such as medical devices is highly valuedYou.
