Role Description

\n

\n

We’re looking for a Director of Operations to join our team! This is an ideal role for someone with a strong CPG operations background who is curious, process-oriented, and eager to deepen their expertise across all areas of operations and supply chain.

\n

\n

The ideal candidate has experience leading operations at an early-stage CPG brand, scaling DTC and retail operations, is fluent in data and systems, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

\n

\n

You’ll lead relationships with emerging and scaling brands, own day-to-day operational execution, solve complex supply chain challenges, and oversee and develop team members supporting your accounts. We’re looking for someone who can operate independently, make sound decisions, and bring both strong leadership and hands-on execution to the role.

Responsibilities

\n

\n

\n
• Own and manage day-to-day operations for a portfolio of emerging beauty and CPG brands across logistics, inventory, fulfillment, retail, and production.
\n
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and operational partners, independently managing priorities, questions, escalations, and ongoing execution.
\n
• Manage end-to-end retail and wholesale order execution, including PO processing, order entry, routing, ASNs, shipping documentation, tracking, invoicing, shortages, RTVs, and chargebacks.
\n
• Manage daily 3PL operations across DTC and B2B fulfillment, proactively monitoring order flow, inventory, SLAs, and fulfillment issues and working directly with warehouse partners to resolve them.
\n
• Oversee first-leg operations, including production timelines, vendor coordination, purchase orders, packaging and component management, inbound freight, and finished goods delivery.
\n
• Manage domestic and international freight, inventory transfers, inbound shipments, receiving, and inventory reconciliation.
\n
• Own inventory and supply planning workflows, maintaining visibility into inventory levels, production needs, lead times, and upcoming replenishment requirements.
\n
• Proactively identify operational risks, gaps, and upcoming needs across client accounts and take action before they become larger issues.
\n
• Analyze inventory, fulfillment, freight, retail, and cost data and maintain reporting to support day-to-day decision-making and execution.
\n
• Work extensively across various systems and software - Excel, ERPs, Shopify, WMS, EDI, retailer portals, middleware - to process orders, manage workflows, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate data.
\n
• Build strong relationships with brand teams, 3PLs, vendors, carriers, and retail partners while confidently managing expectations and operational priorities.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, reporting, and account organization and take ownership of implementing those improvements.
\n
• Mentor and train Operations Associates on client work, helping strengthen execution, problem-solving, communication, and operational knowledge.
\n
• Confidently manage multiple brands and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of independence, urgency, and attention to detail.
\n
• Escalate appropriately while demonstrating the judgment and resourcefulness to independently solve the majority of day-to-day operational challenges.
\n
• Contribute to Hae CPG’s internal best practices and set a strong example of ownership, professionalism, accountability, and client service across the team.

Requirements

\n

\n

\n
• 6+ years of experience in CPG, retail, or beauty operations, with a strong background in logistics, fulfillment, inventory, and supply chain
\n
• Experience leading and working in fast-paced early-stage startup with significant hands-on operational ownership
\n
• Experience managing both DTC and retail/wholesale operations, including high-volume order processing and fulfillment
\n
• Hands-on experience managing retail POs, routing, ASNs, invoicing, shortages, chargebacks, and retailer compliance requirements
\n
• Experience working directly with 3PLs and managing day-to-day warehouse operations, fulfillment performance, inventory discrepancies, and escalations
\n
• Experience with major U.S./EDI-based retailers such as Sephora, Ulta, Target, Walmart, CVS, Nordstrom, or similar
\n
• Experience managing production timelines, purchase orders, vendors, packaging/components, and inbound finished goods
\n
• Experience managing domestic and international freight, including inbound shipments, inventory transfers, and receiving reconciliation
\n
• Strong inventory management and supply planning experience, including inventory analysis, production planning, and replenishment
\n
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills with the ability to independently analyze operational data and build reporting
\n
• Hands-on experience with Shopify, WMS, ERP, EDI, and retailer systems and portals
\n
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members, with demonstrated ability to provide direction, feedback, and accountability
\n
• Demonstrated ability to identify problems proactively, make sound decisions independently, and take ownership through resolution
