Job Title: Electrician Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for experienced electricians to work with an established electrical contractor on a variety of projects throughout the Fairfield and New Haven County areas. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems, ensuring safe and reliable power distribution in residential, commercial, or light industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards.

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install electrical conduit to route and protect wiring in a variety of settings.

• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings to plan layout and installation of electrical systems.

• Run and terminate wiring for power, lighting, and other electrical systems, ensuring neat and organized installations.

• Inspect electrical systems, components, and wiring to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.

• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and methods, and implement effective solutions.

• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, standards, and best practices.

• Collaborate with other trades and team members on job sites to complete projects efficiently and safely.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and organized condition.

• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while performing electrical work.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work.

• Proficiency in installing and working with electrical conduit, including cutting, bending, and threading.

• Strong skills in running, routing, and terminating electrical wiring for various applications.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.

• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safe work practices.

• Capability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment safely and effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on active job sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working with an electrical contractor on residential, commercial, or light industrial projects.

• Familiarity with local electrical codes and permitting requirements in the Fairfield and New Haven County areas.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.

• Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, coworkers, and other trades on site.

• Reliable transportation to travel to various job sites within the region.

Work Environment

This position is field-based, with work primarily performed on active job sites throughout Fairfield and New Haven County. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwalk, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
