About This Role:

We’re looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team and help keep our pharmacy running smoothly. In this role, you’ll support prescription processing and dispensing, assist patients and the pharmacy team, and help maintain accurate inventory and daily operations. Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, you’ll play an important role in providing safe, efficient, and quality pharmacy services to our patients.

What You'll Do: 

• Process prescriptions accurately under the supervision of the pharmacist, including entering prescriptions, counting and pouring medications, reconstituting pediatric solutions and suspensions, labeling, and selecting appropriate containers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient profiles, including contact information, allergies, insurance details, and other relevant information.
• Communicate with prescribers, their staff, and insurance carriers to obtain refill authorizations, resolve prescription claims, and support timely medication access.
• Support daily pharmacy workflow by assisting patients with prescription drop-off and pick-up, triaging calls, processing payments, and verifying patients receive the correct prescriptions.
• Maintain adequate medication and pharmacy supply inventory, including ordering medications and supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and following safety procedures for look-alike/sound-alike medications.
• Manage unclaimed prescriptions by removing prescriptions not picked up within two weeks, reversing claims, returning medications to stock, and assisting with pharmacy inventory.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and audit trails, including refrigerator temperature logs, prescription files, required reports, and other documentation.
• Stay current on pharmacy practices, regulatory requirements, and loss prevention techniques while assisting with the training and development of pharmacy technician students.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent 
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB), preferred 
• Completion of a Florida approved pharmacy technician program 

Licenses, Certification or Registration:

• State of Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration, required
