Travel Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse - $2,740 per week

Position Details

• Position: CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Schedule and Requirements

• 3 x 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required to all levels of care within competency.
• No self-scheduling or block scheduling for travelers.
• Travelers are expected to take a full patient assignment.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience (more experience preferred).
• Must be able to independently care for high-acuity cardiovascular ICU patients.
• Strong experience with:
  • Open heart recovery (CABG, Valve, CABG/Valve)
  • STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock
  • Severe heart failure
  • Ventilator management
  • Temporary pacemakers
  • Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Arterial lines, CVCs, PICCs, Midlines
  • IABP, Impella, ECMO, CRRT
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Titration of multiple vasoactive drips
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity ICU environment.

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA) – Required

Preferred Certifications

• ACLS
• CCRN

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients.
• Monitor and manage post-open heart surgery patients.
• Titrate vasoactive medications including dopamine, dobutamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, vasopressin, propofol, fentanyl, insulin, heparin, and others.
• Manage advanced cardiovascular support devices including IABP, Impella, ECMO, CRRT, and temporary pacemakers.
• Perform comprehensive hemodynamic monitoring using Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary ICU teams.
• Document patient care using Epic EMR.
