Paramedic (EMT-P) Emergency Department Fast‑paced, high‑volume Emergency Department is looking for a top‑skilled Paramedic. Work Details Location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, Bedford, TX 76022. Hours: Part Time, Night Shift (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), 2 shifts, 24 hours per week. Paramedics collaborate closely with physicians, RNs, respiratory therapy, and ancillary teams. Hospital‑based paramedics perform advanced clinical skills under direct physician supervision in accordance with Texas Health Resources protocols. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. Fast‑paced, high‑volume department averaging 100‑200 patients per day. Professional paramedic demonstrates understanding of basic human needs and patient affiliations. Responsibilities Administers IV fluids, saline flushes, IV antibiotics, and all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. Provides ACLS drugs, including drips, using barcode medication verification during medication administrations. Administers all IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans and documents patient care accurately in the electronic health record. Maintains consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility, and hygiene needs. Applies anti‑embolic stockings and sequential compression devices as indicated. Manages cervical collars. Performs external defibrillation when required. Applies nasal cannula or oxygen mask. Inserts and removes oral airways. Acquires ultrasound‑guided peripheral IV access. Draws blood from ports. Performs other duties as assigned by the care team. Benefits 401(k) plan. Paid time off. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Minimum 3 months of paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required; 1 year of EMS or Fire Department experience preferred. EMT‑P (Emergency Medical Technician‑Paramedic) or LP (Licensed Paramedic) certification required. ACLS certification within 90 days of hire required. BCLS certification before independent patient care and maintained quarterly required. PALS certification within 90 days of hire required.
