Mechanical Design Engineer II - CAS

Medtronic Inc

Medtronic seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer II to support the Cardiac Ablation Solutions unit in developing design improvements and investigating product issues. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, design validation, and leadership of root-cause analysis investigations for cardiac ablation devices.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement mechanical design improvements for reliability and scalable manufacturing
Lead cross-functional technical investigations using structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Support test method validation, design verification, and validation activities
Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, reports, and technical presentations
Collaborate on complaint investigations, component selection, and manufacturing process issues

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math with 3+ years product design/NPI experience
Advanced degree in STEM field with 1+ year technical experience
Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks
Knowledge of metal and plastic component manufacturing processes
Understanding of medical device regulations including FDA 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485
Experience with product risk management and ISO 14971
