An OT focuses on academics, play and leisure, social participation, self-care skills and transition/work skills.Job DutiesConduct Occupational Therapy screenings according to state and federal professional standards and proceduresComplete and write comprehensive evaluation according to established state and federal professional standards and procedures.Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences and planning sessions in order to meet the continuing needs of identified students or those at risk.Collaborate with Intervention Assistance Team members regarding age appropriate intervention strategiesDevelop Individualized Education Programs for identified students.Provide Occupational Therapy services using a variety of service delivery models within a collaborative team to address physical, cognitive, psychosocial and sensory components of performanceComplete documentation through progress notes and quarterly reports that report student progress on IEP goals and objectives.Work collaboratively with teachers and parents including parent/teacher conferences to ensure a unified approach to school-related needs.Provide training as needed to teachers, parents, instructor assistants, and other related service personnel to ensure their effective contribution to a child's Individualized Education Program.Supervise Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant if indicated.Serve on various district, school or Occupational Therapy staff committees.Other duties as assignedCore Responsibilities/Essential Duties:Work collaboratively with school teams and outside agencies.Provide coaching, training and development to instructors served on an on-going basisModel proper work habits and skillsAssure ongoing positive relationships between individuals served in the communityGuide instructors on how to use data to support studentsFoster a teamwork environmentMaintain open communication with students, staff and familiesImplement and comply with all of CPS' organizational policies and proceduresMaintain high level of ethical and confidentiality of information about the studentAttend and participate in student meetingsFollow work schedule and CPS calendarMaintain high ethical standards; serve as a cooperative and productive team member within assigned teamPerforms other duties as assigned by the Department of Student Services ManagerQualifications:Valid Ohio Occupational Therapy License issued by the State of Ohio Occupational, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers BoardValid Ohio School Physical Therapist Teacher License
