Get to Know Your Team: BSA provides 24-hour paramedic care through our ambulance service, which responds to emergencies in Canyon and 825 square miles of Randall County. BSA EMS staffs two stations 24/7/365, one in northern Randall County and one in Canyon. Responsibilities The Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with established protocols, BSA Health System Policies, and Department Guidelines. Safely operates emergency vehicles in compliance with all laws, BSA Policies, and Department Guidelines at all times. Accepts other tasks as assigned by the EMS Director. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School (or GED equivalent) diploma. Certification or licensure as an EMT-Paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health Services. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider completion. Valid minimum Class C Texas Driver's License with restriction “A” permissible. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) completion within 80 days of employment. Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) completion within 80 days of employment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) completion within 80 days of employment. Completion of the following Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.A is required within 80 days of employment. Preferred Job Requirements: Field experience. National Registry. Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) completion. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) completion.
