Mortgage Sales Assistant

We are seeking a Mortgage Sales Assistant to become a part of our team! This is an in-office position at our Grand Rapids, MI office. Prior mortgage processing or mortgage sales experience is required. Above all we are looking for outgoing, energetic & personable people who can bring us their A-game. A Mortgage Sales Assistant (or Loan Officer Assistant) works in tandem with their Loan Officer and team throughout the loan process. They assist with lead generation and maintaining a tracking database for the team, borrower qualification, taking applications, and will work with their Processor(s) to track down outstanding conditions and communicate updates throughout the process. Sales Assistant’s will work closely with borrowers, real estate agents, Set Up Specialists, Processing, and their Loan Officer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make initial contact and maintain contact with borrowers and reply to/follow up with borrowers and agents in a timely manner, by phone, email, or text.
• Manage the team's lead tracker and CRM.
• Provide assistance to their Loan Officer and Processing team.
• Provide support on loan qualification scenarios and interpreting guidelines.
• Guide borrowers through the loan application process.
• Update loan software with validated information.
• Provide accurate information to all parties in the transaction.
• Request and review all required upfront documents.
• Assist with making credit decisions and issue pre-approvals or game plans once supporting documents are received.
• Work with the team to handle any issues throughout the loan process and take appropriate action to resolve them.
• Act as a knowledgeable resource for the borrowers, real estate agents and processors.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Stay up to date on Neighborhood Loans and Treadstone Funding policies and procedures.

• At least 1 year of mortgage experience in sales or processing is required.
• Strong verbal communication skills – Communicates accurately, effectively, appropriately and with a positive attitude.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Works effectively as a team player and encourages peers to succeed in their respective roles.
• Takes pride in a high quality of work with a thorough attention to detail.

• NMLS license (company will provide support in obtaining license, if not already licensed)
