Sanitation Collection Worker (Hopper)

Location: Fairhope, AL
Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM–12:30 PM

We are seeking dependable, hardworking Sanitation Collection Workers (Hoppers) to join a sanitation crew in Fairhope, AL. This is a hands-on, physically active position working outdoors and assisting with the collection of residential and commercial waste along assigned routes.

Job Duties

• Ride designated sanitation routes with the truck driver and collection crew

• Collect trash, bags, containers, and other waste materials along assigned routes

• Load waste materials into the hopper of the sanitation truck

• Lift, carry, push, and pull trash containers throughout the workday

• Pick up loose debris and help keep collection areas clean

• Work safely around moving sanitation trucks, vehicles, pedestrians, and equipment

• Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures

• Perform other general labor and cleanup duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor throughout the shift

• Ability to frequently bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and reach

• Ability to repeatedly lift 50+ pounds

• Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and changing weather conditions

• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew

• Previous sanitation, waste collection, landscaping, construction, warehouse, or general labor experience is a plus
