Responsibilities and Duties Perform pre- and post-implant clinical activities. Educate patients on procedures and promote independence, self‑care, and rehabilitation. Educate nursing staff and colleagues. Assist transplant physicians by monitoring patients independently and managing outpatient clinics. Periodically review all patients with physicians. Participate in professional growth activities. Ensure compliance and participate in quality initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Required: Registered Nurse Diploma, 3 years related experience with RN Diploma or RN Associate Degree, or two years related experience with a BS in Nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Certifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association. Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval. Proficiency with Windows–style applications, keyboard, and software specific to the role. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals. Strong leadership skills. Reliable transportation for travel between facilities. Reliable contact method for on‑call availability 24/7. Physical and Environmental Demands Frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force; occasionally up to 100 pounds. Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues. Work in patient care areas where patients, specimens, or communicable diseases are present. Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications and waste.
