We are looking for a detail-oriented Loan Processor - Support specialist to join a credit union team in Troy, Michigan. This Long-term Contract opportunity focuses on supporting home equity and mortgage loan activities by coordinating documentation, maintaining compliance, and helping move files efficiently from application through closing. The ideal candidate brings lending experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with members, internal teams, and third-party partners.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the collection and review of property-related and borrower documents, including title work, valuations, flood certifications, insurance records, and other items needed to advance home equity files.
• Prepare and issue loan disclosures tailored to each member file while ensuring adherence to applicable federal lending regulations.
• Examine application packages for completeness and accuracy, compare supporting documents against submitted information, and contact members when clarification or additional details are required.
• Respond to status questions from borrowers, branch partners, and external vendors to keep loan files progressing on schedule.
• Forward completed home equity applications to underwriting and organize closing activities with members, title companies, notaries, and internal stakeholders once approval is received.
• Track outstanding conditions, complete pre-closing steps, and confirm that processing milestones are satisfied before final documentation is issued.
• Request payoff statements and lien release information from borrowers or lien holders and update loan records as changes occur during processing.
• Maintain accurate HMDA-related loan data and support reporting requirements for newly originated loans.
• Assist with first mortgage files by reviewing applications for disclosure compliance and validating employment, income, assets, liabilities, and other applicant information.• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of lending experience, preferably within a bank, credit union, or other financial institution.
• Working knowledge of mortgage or home equity loan processing, including documentation, disclosures, and closing coordination.
• Experience reviewing appraisals, title documentation, insurance records, and related loan documents.
• Familiarity with mortgage lending regulations and compliance standards, including HMDA reporting support.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines accurately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with members, vendors, and internal teams.
