Accounting ClerkThe purpose of this position is to provide clerical support for the various Brazos River Authority (BRA) accounting functions. This is accomplished by processing accounts receivable payments for customer accounts; overseeing travel requests and reconciliations in accordance with the Travel & Business Meetings Procedures; managing the department's utility tracking system; preparing the annual utility consumption report; coordinating the filing of the annual federal census; processing employee expense reimbursements; providing backup support for the accounts payable department; supporting the accounting department by performing general accounting functions; assisting the Controller and co-workers with projects or tasks to ensure goals and deadlines are met; and any other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsA minimum of two years' experience in an office setting or an equivalent combination of education.High School Diploma - Awarded for the completion of High School.Key CompetenciesCreating honest, trusting, and successful working relationships with others (inside and outside the organization) by consistently demonstrating competence and reliability in job performance, and representing what is best about the organization through demonstrated principles, actions, and communications.Taking the initiative to consistently meet or exceed (external and internal) customer expectations and specifications.Developing and maintaining an effective and constructive network with others inside and outside the organization (partners, stakeholders, customers, vendors, contacts, peers, etc.,) who may be helpful in achieving work-related goals that contribute to organizational success.Working with others to share expertise and achieve outcomes that benefit the organization; stepping in to fill necessary roles that others are unable or unwilling to do; demonstrating strong communication skills to others on the team through active listening, summarizing, facilitating and "bridge building".Ensuring that work accomplished is accurate in all relevant aspects.STARTING SALARY RANGE$19.80 to $25.24 per hour.
