Chief Nursing Officer Join us in opening El Camino Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a brand-new 52‑bed inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) opening its doors in December2026. As Chief Nursing Officer, you will direct and coordinate nursing functions, advise the CEO, develop and enforce standards of practice, and manage clinical operations, including financial matters. How you’ll contribute Direct and coordinate nursing department functions and activities of assigned clinical operations departments. Consult with the CEO on general hospital operations. Develop nursing and clinical department goals, objectives, and performance standards, policies, and procedures. Organize nursing and clinical departments according to administrative guidelines and ensure compliance with legal, organizational, and medical staff standards. Establish, direct, and implement the Standards of Nursing Practice and manage clinical operations and financial matters related to all nursing and clinical care areas. Provide professional working conditions for employees and ensure nursing staff performs patient care that optimizes safety and reduces errors. Assist with development of the nursing department budget and manage associated costs. Develop staffing plans and manage nursing hours per patient day. Ensure compliance with nursing scope of practice and HIPAA. Enforce nursing education, in‑service, orientation, and competency requirements. Lead monthly staff meetings and facilitate communication with management and leadership. Promote rehabilitation nursing philosophy and encourage staff development, including acquisition of CRRN for qualified registered nurses. Review and evaluate risk, quality indicators, patient satisfaction, and outcomes to improve performance. Perform management activities such as interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, and performance evaluations of staff. Ensure accurate documentation of medical necessity and monitor Interdisciplinary Care Plan revisions. Provide education and training on Quality Indicators (QI) and ensure timely and accurate QI assessments. Ensure nursing attendance and participation in team conferences. Ensure patient charges are accurate and entered timely. Perform other assigned duties. What we’re looking for Master’s degree preferred and/or BSN with plan to complete a master’s in healthcare administration, business administration, or clinical specialty. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure. Current CRRN or obtained within two years preferred. Minimum of five years’ experience in healthcare administration/management with at least two years at a senior nursing management level. Minimum of five years’ experience in hospital management in an inpatient, acute‑care environment. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Active CPR certification.
