About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to lead its comprehensive campaign in anticipation of a significant milestone. The CAO will be responsible for overseeing alumni relations and development, with a focus on building and deepening relationships with various stakeholders to support the organization's mission and vision. This role requires a seasoned fundraising professional with a proven track record in multi-strategy development, including major gift solicitation. The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial leader, expected to transform advancement efforts, implement best practices, and work closely with the Board of Trustees and other leaders to maximize giving. Key responsibilities for the CAO include providing leadership and mentorship to the advancement staff, developing and implementing fundraising strategies, and managing an active portfolio of major donors and prospects. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years' of fundraising experience, with a strong preference for those with a background in higher education. They should be adept at using development tools, have experience in leading capital or comprehensive campaigns, and be comfortable with data analysis to enhance fundraising efforts. The role demands exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to the values of the organization, including diversity, equity, and inclusion. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree being preferred, and a CFRE credential is a plus.
