Clinical Role

Join a community hospital Emergency Department in Hancock, Michigan, providing Emergency Medicine coverage during a temporary staffing need. This locums opportunity offers 12-hour shifts, a supportive clinical team, and the ability to care for a broad range of emergency patients in a Level III Trauma Center setting. IMLC physicians are welcome.

Assignment Details

Start Date:

• September 9-11, 2026

Assignment Length:

• Short-term coverage with potential ongoing future dates available

Reason for Coverage:

• FMLA coverage

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts
• 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
• Hospital and clinic coverage available seven days per week

Orientation:

• One day onsite orientation required prior to first assigned shift block

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Hospital Emergency Department
• Inpatient and outpatient

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 36 patients per day

Admissions:

• Approximately 3 admissions per shift

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat emergency department patients
• Manage acute and chronic emergency conditions
• Perform patient assessments and determine disposition
• Coordinate inpatient admissions
• Collaborate with nursing staff and APP support
• Provide high-quality emergency medical care
• Document patient encounters in Meditech

Requirements

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine required
• Active Michigan Medical License required
• IMLC accepted

Credentialing

• Approximately 30 days
• Can be completed faster once required documents are submitted
