About This Role

The Rimon Preschool at Sherith Israel is seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our growing preschool community. This position will begin as a part-time and subbing role and is expected to transition into a full-time position in September 2026. The goal of this role providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 30 months old while maintaining compliance with Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS) licensing requirements. We teach using the Reggio Emilia philosophy and accept applicants of all backgrounds.

• Implementing daily classroom activities and routines.
• Supervise children at all times to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through developmentally appropriate interactions and activities.
• Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, hand washing, and rest time routines.
• Prepare classroom materials and learning environments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom.
• Use positive guidance techniques consistent with Tennessee DHS regulations and program policies.
• Observe and document children's progress as directed by the Lead Teacher.
• Assist with indoor and outdoor supervision.
• Communicate professionally with families and coworkers.
• Follow all Tennessee DHS licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and preschool policies.
• Report accidents, injuries, incidents, or concerns to the Director immediately.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to meet all Tennessee DHS background check requirements.
• Must complete all required Tennessee DHS orientation and training requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a classroom environment with children of varying ages.
• Must be physically able to supervise children indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, camp, or educational setting.
• CDA credential, Early Childhood coursework, or related experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Interest in play-based, child-centered, and Reggio-inspired learning environments.
