Skid Steer Operator Needed

Job Description

As an HEO Technician, you will perform fine grading for residential and commercial site development projects, operate various heavy equipment, and support grading operations on large residential and commercial job sites. Your role involves a balanced mix of equipment operation and manual labor tasks, ensuring precise curb and gutter grading and collaborating with crews to meet project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform fine grading for residential and commercial site development projects.
• Operate equipment such as Kubota skid steers, Bobcats, CAT 259 mini excavators, and PC88 excavators.
• Support grading operations on large residential subdivision developments and commercial job sites.
• Assist with underground piping installation and site preparation.
• Maintain a 50/50 split between equipment operation and manual labor tasks.
• Execute curb and gutter grading with precision.
• Collaborate with crews to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specifications.
• Work on undeveloped land with no existing structures or active home construction.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Proficiency in operating skid steers, excavators, and related machinery.
• Expertise in fine grading, including curb and gutter work.
• Ability to balance equipment operation with hands-on labor and site support.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in civil construction, grading, and heavy equipment operating.
• Successful completion of a seat test on an active site.
• Participation in an 8-week training academy starting every Monday.

Work Environment

Operators should expect to work 55-60 hours a week during the warmer months, with work potentially slowing down to 35-40 hours during the winter months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greer, SC.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
