Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The PACU RN provides specialized postoperative care to patients recovering from surgery, ensuring optimal outcomes through monitoring, assessment, and intervention. This role requires delivering high-quality, emergency-ready care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions continuously, identifying potential complications early.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to coordinate patient recovery and discharge planning.
• Monitor vital signs, neurological status, and pain levels, adjusting care as needed.
• Document patient care accurately within electronic health records.
• Participate in on-call rotations and holiday coverage as required.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent experience in a PACU or similar unit.
• Possess current AHA ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record systems.
• Have strong assessment and critical thinking skills for high-acuity cases.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including holidays, with a positive attitude.
