Senior Mechanical Engineer - Buildings

Your ImpactPerform mechanical engineering design and technical delivery across a diverse portfolio including healthcare, commercial, higher education, and civic projectsSupport design of HVAC, air distribution, hydronic, plumbing, and building systemsParticipate in the full project lifecycle, from concept development through construction and close-outAnalyze and interpret data from site conditions, drawings, and technical documents to support engineering solutionsPrepare and contribute to technical reports, specifications, and design documentation Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and sector-specific requirements, including healthcare environmentsCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutionsSupport client interactions and project meetings, building strong working relationshipsMentor junior staff and contribute to team developmentWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design for building systemsExperience supporting projects across healthcare and/or commercial, higher education, or civic sectorsStrong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical design principlesExperience supporting projects from design through constructionProficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and related engineering toolsStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtainExperience working on complex healthcare or institutional projectsFamiliarity with California codes and local jurisdiction requirementsExperience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teamsLEED AP or sustainability credentialsWSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Compensation:Expected Salary: $100,800- $147,000WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
