Job Description

The ICU is a fast-paced environment providing care for critically ill patients with complex needs. The unit has a total of 18 beds, with plans to expand to 27 by June/July 2023. Nurses will typically care for 2 patients, with potential for 3 in overflow or step-down situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions using invasive and non-invasive techniques.
• Titrate critical medication drips including Levophed, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, and Insulin.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists and intensivists.
• Manage complex patient care needs including sepsis, acute MI, renal issues, and post-vascular procedures.
• Participate in night shift charge nurse responsibilities without patient assignment.
• Float to step-down or med-surg/telemetry as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN License.
• Two years of critical care experience preferred, with travel experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS and TNCC certifications preferred.
