Nuclear Medicine Technologist

A full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist opportunity is available at a 380-bed acute care hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida. This Level II Trauma Center is a Certified Primary Stroke Center and is home to the region's only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. The hospital also offers advanced cardiovascular services, including open-heart surgery, along with orthopedic, oncology, and adult and pediatric emergency care.

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using ionizing radiation while following ALARA safety standards to ensure the highest level of patient care. This role involves operating specialized nuclear medicine equipment, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and supporting physicians in the evaluation and diagnosis of a wide range of medical conditions. The technologist will work alongside a collaborative healthcare team in a fast-paced environment that serves patients across multiple specialties.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.

• Operate and monitor imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

• Follow ALARA principles and radiation safety guidelines during all procedures.

• Prepare, process, and organize diagnostic images for physician interpretation.

• Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort throughout the imaging process.

• Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records.

• Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

• Maintain equipment performance and report any operational concerns.

• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree required.

• Current State Registered Radiologic Technician license required.

• Registered Radiographer (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) certification required.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

• Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Schedule:

• Full-time

• Day and evening shifts

• Rotating weekends

• 8-hour shifts (6:00 AM–2:30 PM, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, or 3:00 PM–11:00 PM)
