Social Content Associate

About the Role

Claire’s is looking for a highly creative, culturally curious Social Content Associate who instinctively understands what works on social and loves making content.

This person is chronically online - in the best possible way. They know the difference between a trend Claire’s should join, one we should adapt and one we should leave alone. They understand the nuances of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and emerging platforms, and they can turn a cultural moment, product launch or spontaneous idea into content people actually want to watch and share.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable brainstorming concepts, filming on an iPhone, appearing on camera, writing sharp copy and publishing content. You do not need a massive production budget to make something great. You need a strong instinct, a clear point of view and the ability to move quickly.

Based in Chicago, this person will regularly create content from Claire’s offices, stores, events and local cultural moments. They will help Claire’s show up with greater relevance, consistency and personality while building a true community around the brand.

What You’ll Do

Create Content

• Create a consistent volume of original short-form content each week, balancing planned, evergreen, trend-driven and reactive content.
• Turn product stories, campaigns, piercing moments, trends and everyday brand activity into platform-native content.
• Create content using an iPhone and lightweight production tools, from quick-turn videos to recurring social series.
• Write social copy, hooks, captions and calls to action in the Claire’s brand voice.
• Be comfortable appearing on camera and directing colleagues, creators or customers when needed.
• Capture content in Claire’s stores, at the Chicago office, during events and in other real-world settings.
• Develop repeatable content formats that audiences recognize and want to follow.
• Work at the speed of social, sometimes moving from idea to published content within hours or days rather than weeks.
• Time allocation: Approximately 70% of the role is focused on creating content: concepting, shooting, editing, writing + publishing.

Stay Ahead of Culture

• Monitor trends, conversations, creators, sounds, formats and emerging behaviors across social platforms.
• Identify opportunities for Claire’s to participate in culture quickly, naturally and credibly.
• Bring a strong understanding of Gen Alpha, Gen Z, parents and the communities influencing style, beauty and self-expression.
• Help the team distinguish between fleeting trends and meaningful shifts in consumer behavior.
• Share regular trend updates and actionable ideas with the broader marketing and creative teams.

Manage the Day-to-Day

• Support the social content calendar from planning through publishing with other members of the team
• Partner with brand, creative, merchandising, ecommerce, retail and PR teams to bring business priorities to life on social.
• Maintain organized content libraries, working files and publishing schedules.
• Balance planned campaign content with quick-turn, reactive opportunities

Learn and Improve

• Track content performance and identify what is earning attention, engagement and conversation.
• Use performance insights to improve creative concepts, hooks, formats and publishing decisions.
• Test new ideas regularly and share clear recommendations based on what works.
• Stay current on platform capabilities, algorithm changes, creator tools and social best practices.
• Help Claire’s become faster, braver and more effective on social – try new things and have fun with it.

What You Bring

• 1–3 years of experience creating social content for a brand, agency, publication or your own established channels.
• A portfolio or social presence that demonstrates strong creative instincts and hands-on content creation skills.
• Fluency across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and emerging social platforms.
• Experience filming and editing short-form video using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Canva or native platform tools.
• Strong writing skills and an instinct for concise, conversational social copy.
• A sharp eye for trends, aesthetics, music, creators and internet culture.
• Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
• The ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities and quick deadlines without losing attention to detail.
• Willingness to appear on camera and create content in stores, at events and around Chicago.
• Good judgment, especially when creating content for and about younger audiences.
• Experience in fashion, beauty, accessories, retail, entertainment or youth culture is helpful but not required.

A four-year degree is not required. Great ideas, strong judgment and proof that you can make compelling content matter more.
