Job Description: Bellarmine University Athletics is searching for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Wellness/Head Athletic Trainer and will be responsible for: Providing on‑site care of Student‑Athlete injuries and illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation. Coordinating and implementing injury‑prevention programs with Strength and Conditioning staff. Electronic documentation of all patient encounters using the injury‑tracking EMR. Communicating with Team Physicians, other allied health professionals, and coaching staff regarding injury status and treatment plans. Assisting in day‑to‑day operations of the athletic training room and ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to operating procedures. Providing daily medical care for assigned student‑athletes per department SOPs. Assisting with filing and resolving issues concerning secondary insurance. Performing administrative and other duties as directed by the Associate Athletic Director. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position. Requirements: Experience in the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of Student‑Athlete injuries. Ability to work with the Sports Medicine team to design and implement pre‑ and post‑injury programs. Travel with athletic teams as assigned and directed. Critical thinking and independent decision making per state licensure guidelines. Organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Effective communication skills in high‑stress/pressure situations with patients, medical professionals, coaches, staff, and families. Ability to lift up to 80 pounds, frequent lifting or carrying. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications: BOC Certification. Master's degree from a CAATE‑accredited athletic training education program. Eligibility for a Kentucky Medical State License. Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
