Position Summary:
The role is responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide redundancy, quality of service, and capacity planning solutions.
Essential Functions:
• Able to handle project tasks with the guidance of more senior network administrators or vendor technical support.
• Competent with most of the core technologies in use at LBWL.
• Prioritizes work effectively within guidelines provided by IT management.
• Executes a training plan as defined in annual performance evaluation process.
• Demonstrates a clear customer service/IT is a support organization mentality in all interactions.
• Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Ability to work effectively with vendor technical support such as TAC, ability to work in a team environment.

Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred:

OT Network Administrator II:
Position Summary:
The role is responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links under the direction of IT/OT Engineers and Architects. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
Essential Functions:
Able to complete most tickets related to network administration, including basic route/switch and ACI configuration without assistance
Able to independently complete support tickets related to network administration without assistance
Able to handle tickets under the guidance of more senior network administrators or vendor technical support.
Able to participate in the on-call rotation with as needed assistance from system administrators or more senior network administrators.
Technically competent to be assigned as the secondary resource for LBWL in at least one core technology at LBWL and able to execute upgrades and patching.
Competent with VTP, ISL, 802.10, STP, RSTP, vPC, BGP, EIGRP
Competent with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching.
Upgrade new and standard products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment.
Able to self-prioritize most work with limited guidance from IT management

OT Network Administrator III:
Position Summary:
The role is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links under the direction of OT Engineers and Architects. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions.
Essential Functions:
Able to identify risk and provide risk mitigation when making changes in a network environment; install and configure network devices like Fortinet FortiSwitches and FortiGate firewalls, troubleshoot network issues.
Assist in coordination of testing changes, upgrades and new products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment; make recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the environment.
Coordinate and work with other data center teams such as Server, Storage, and Backup Operations.
Maintain Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) tokens for customer and vendor access.
Participate in performance and volume analysis and design; participate in performance improvement activities.
Identify and apply potential improvements related to the environment for an application; provide accurate and complete answers to general use and environment questions in a timely manner; provide effective on-site environment support as needed.
Accurately set severity of identified defects; provide input to training and/or documentation materials regarding latest technical and functional design change; ensure that all work is documented for future reference.
Follow quality standards; ensure effective and reliable backups are being performed and distributed properly.
Proactively address customer needs; track and anticipate volume and type of use of the environment.
Communicate accurate and useful status updates.
Plan and manage network operating system upgrades; actively participate in analyzing and evaluating emerging software and hardware technologies/standards.
Serve as liaison between teams for network planning and connectivity; develop appropriate functional and usability standards for the environments.
Plan or assist in planning network environment, including supporting existing structure and enhancements.
Upgrade new and standard products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment.
Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting own work and work of the Application or Environment team.

This position requires knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 years of demonstrated experience as a network administrator in an enterprise environment.
Certification in one or more technologies desired: Cisco routing and switching, MPLS and other internet technologies, Cisco ISE and/or Radius, Fortinet, VPN and Tunneling setup and management, DNS, DHCP, other standard networking technologies, Cloud networking including AWS and Azure, competent with CLI and GUI configuration of Cisco and Fortinet devices.

Mastery of all level 1 and 2 skills.
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with:
Enterprise-class network/ telecommunication technology understanding.
Experience with VPN and routing protocols like OSPF, TCP/UDP, IPV4, IP addressing techniques (NAT/PAT), virtual LANs, L2 Switching, L3 routing.
Experience with different firewall products (Fortinet, Cisco FMC)
Ability to retrieve data from computerized typed, and written sources.
Ability to effectively communicate orally or in writing project recommendations with internal teams and external agencies.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to be on call 24/7
Preferred:
Experience with Cisco product implementation and troubleshooting
Familiar with Linux systems administration, particularly RHEL and variants
Experience using Splunk for log analysis
OT Network Administrator IV:
Position Summary:
The role is responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links under the direction of IT/OT Engineers and Architects. This person will also troubleshoot network performance issues, as well as analyze network traffic and provide capacity planning solutions. The LBWL data centers and plants will be the primary focus.
Essential Functions:
Able to complete most tickets related to network administration, including basic route/switch and ACI configuration without assistance
Able to independently complete support tickets related to network administration without assistance
Able to handle tickets under the guidance of more senior network administrators or vendor technical support.
Able to participate in the on-call rotation with as needed assistance from system administrators or more senior network administrators.
Technically competent to be assigned as the primary resource for LBWL in at least one core technology at LBWL and able to demonstrate technical leadership execute in planning upgrades and patching.
Competent with VTP, ISL, 802.10, STP, RSTP, vPC, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and datacenter technologies
Competent with Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching.
Actively monitors the health of network resources including conducting capacity planning for future budget years.
Able to self-manage small discrete technical projects including limited requirements to delegate tasks to others or obtain assistance to others without management involvement.
Independently author standards documents for use within the department.
Able to self-prioritize most work with limited guidance from IT/OT management
Provide mentoring and training to less senior system administrators in both technical and professional areas.
Actively engaged helping both peers and junior personnel raise the bar on their performance.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for much of the working day. The person in this position needs to move about inside the office environment. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen. Must communicate frequently with other departments and employees both verbally and in writing. May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/ below the knee level or reach above head. On occasion, may need to use stairs.
Constantly works in a temperature-controlled office environment.
