Assembler II

Installation of various vehicle interior/exterior parts.

Responsibilities:

• Installation of all interior/exterior components and hardware
• Set work priorities to meet production goals as schedules
• Meet all QA and QC standards for each task
• Function with a minimal amount of supervision
• Close attention to detail
• Meet standards of safety and 5S standards
• Promote the use and applications of Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement tools as part of the culture
• Be compliant with the rules of conduct and attendance policy
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

• Ability to read, write comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English
• Must be able to prioritize work
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English
• Ability to read and use a linear and other measuring devices
• Familiar with various tools; drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and router
• Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
• Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it
• Education and Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred

Physical Demands:

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40#'s
• The employee is regularly required to stand or walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects; and reach with hand and arms
• The employee is required to be in a squatting, kneeling or bending position
• Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding
• Ability to stand at stand at workstation for 10 hours a day
• Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools and machinery
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
• Ability to work with arms above head
• Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts
• Employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
• Employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals

Production Floor Personal Protective Equipment Recommended and/or Required on Production Floor:

• Safety Glasses
• Earplugs
• Work gloves when needed
• Dust mask when needed
• Closed-toed shoes
• Knee pads
