Job TitleFull Time, includes some weekendsEmployment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Coordinates the day to day operational activities and functions within the Central Processing Department by providing team leadership to central service employees. Ensures adequate preparation and functioning of the Central Service Department. Collaborates with Perioperative Services and all other customers of the Central Processing Department.Essential Functions:Directs day to day activities of Central Processing Department and coordinates activities with the Operating Room and clinics.Report daily activities to direct manager each day.Performs staff level sterilization dutiesFunctions as a liaison to ensure prescribed decontamination and sterilization practices are performed in compliance with industry standards and practicesManages and controls all Central Processing supplies, instruments and equipment to ensure availability, inventory control, appropriate asset management and expense controlEnsures proper operation of all decontamination and sterilization equipmentPerforms other duties as assigned or requiredEducation, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:5 years' experience in sterile processingCRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Svc Material Mgt); ORCSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician) from CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution) is required.Knowledge of Central Sterilization ReprocessingKnowledge of standards and recommended guidelines of Association of Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and American Society of Healthcare Central Service Professionals (ASHCSP)Skills:Maintains current knowledge of advances and current trends in Surgical/GI/Endo procedures and techniquesDemonstrates attention to detail by ensuring that all documentation is legible, complete, accurate, and factualKnowledge of current practice related to hand hygiene, aseptic and sterile techniqueKnowledge of current practice of decontamination, high level disinfection and sterilization proceduresKnowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectivesMission Statement:We, St Joseph's Health and Trinity Health, serve together in the spirit of the Gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities.Vision:To be world-renowned for passionate patient care and outstanding clinical outcomes.Core Values:In the spirit of good Stewardship, we heal by practicing Justice in fostering right relationships to promote common good, Reverence in honoring the dignity of every person, Excellence in expecting the best of ourselves and others; Integrity in being faithful to who we say we are.Work Environment and Hazards:Clinical setting.? Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
