Tracking Code5219Job DescriptionPosition Summary The Lead Project Accountant is responsible for coordinating all phases of the construction job costing process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project as well as several smaller less complex projects. This position also assures vendor compliance in order to manage project risk. This role is assigned to supervise a team of project accountants that are assigned to support various construction projects, working closely with the Project Managers to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle. Position DetailsEnsures accurate and timely processing of assigned financial transactions.​ ​​Operations of assigned areas ensuring accuracy and integrity of accounting systems and internal controls.​ Monitors financials. Coordinates the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data. Prepares standard and special reports. Maintains knowledge of best practices, and current and proposed legislation and regulation; recommend changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. Works with the accounting manager on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization. Leads departmental projects to include change/implementation of new policies and procedures. Reviews/completes analysis of complex accounting issues. Provide coaching and/or training to and supervise less-experienced Project Accountants.
