Working within the Department of Public Safety, this position supports Berklee’s mission by fostering a culture of trust, partnership, and prevention—helping our campus community feel secure and empowered to focus on what they do best: creating, learning, and performing.**Key Responsibilities*** Protect life and property while promoting a sense of safety and belonging throughout campus.* Respond promptly and professionally to calls for service, including emergencies, medical incidents, and safety concerns.* Conduct thorough investigations and enforce local, state, and federal laws—as well as campus regulations—with fairness, discretion, and respect for all individuals.* Engage in proactive patrols and community outreach that reduce crime and build meaningful relationships across the Berklee community.* Collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to identify and address safety issues through education, problem-solving, and prevention initiatives.* Partner with other agencies—including Boston Police, Fire, and EMS—when necessary to ensure the wellbeing of the campus community.**Required Qualifications*** U.S. citizenship, high school diploma or GED, and minimum age of 21.* Active Massachusetts driver’s license and unrestricted License to Carry Firearms.* Ability to obtain and retain POST certification, Special State Police powers, and Suffolk County Deputy Sheriff powers.* Successful completion of medical, psychological, and background screenings, as well as required training and field evaluations.**Preferred Qualifications*** Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice (or related field) or a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.* Prior campus law enforcement experience and familiarity with the IMC operating system.* CPR/First Aid/AED certification.* Strong understanding of higher education culture and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.**Why Berklee?**At Berklee, work is more than a job—it’s a shared mission.
