RN - Heart and Vascular (HVU)

Staff Nurse/Registered Nurse – Heart and Vascular Unit (Third Shift) Shift: Third Shift (United States). Full time – Days and Nights Available 7:00am‑7:30pm or 7:00pm‑7:30am. Multiple positions available. Compensation and Benefits Competitive Compensation $15,000 Bonus (if applicable) Tuition Reimbursement Loan Repayment Program ADN → BSN Funded Sponsorship Program Position Highlights The Heart & Vascular Unit (7HVU) is a 49 private bed unit. It is a specialty medical/surgical unit that is fast‑paced and offers growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care delivery of cardiovascular patients. The staff will care for specialty patients such as stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs). The Cardiac Vascular Unit is a sister unit to the Cardiac Care Unit. All staff nurses will attend a Cardiology Fellowship Program to enhance their skill set and prepare them to become Cardiovascular Nurse Experts. Responsibilities Provide, prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of a designated group of patients. Environment of care may be long term, emergent, critical, acute, interventional, or procedural driven. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma. Effective communication skills. Initiative, teamwork, and flexibility. Registered Nurse license in the state of Nebraska or a current compact state license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if department dependent. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in patient nursing, specialty/primary care clinic, or telephonics. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN). Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficient with email applications. Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records.
