Part Time Paramedic/EMT-P

Position Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis. Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and facilitate medical emergency procedures, including development of Center Physician standing orders and transport to emergency care facilities. Collaborate with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and guidance on medical or technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER evaluation. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats in the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of an accredited nursing program with state credentials. Current state license or certification as Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. State‑mandated basic IV therapy training. Completion of FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training. At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
