NOW HIRING – LOGISTICS DISPATCHER
SHIFT: 9am or 10am shift - TBD
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Dispatcher to support daily transportation and carrier operations. This position is responsible for scheduling and dispatching carrier loads, coordinating shipments, and assigning quoted shipments to contracted carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule and dispatch carrier loads
• Coordinate, plan, and assign shipments to contracted carriers
• Follow carrier routing and load tendering instructions for FTL shipments and assist with LTL shipments as needed
• Communicate directly with carrier dispatch teams and drivers
• Provide shipment status updates and respond to shipment inquiries
• Confirm and process orders and Bills of Lading (BOLs)
• Schedule carrier pickups and provide load details
• Track daily shipments, including arrival, loading, and shipping times
• Scan, file, log, email, and maintain daily transportation paperwork
• Create, update, and close entries in the Transportation Management System (TMS)
• Troubleshoot shipment issues and communicate concerns to Logistics Management
• Assist with paperwork needed for carrier payments and shipment invoicing
Qualifications & Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of experience related to Traffic Management
• Prior freight brokerage experience desired
• Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, or 3PL experience/training preferred
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations related to brokering, shipping, and receiving freight
• Knowledge of transportation documentation
• Experience with TruckMate, PC*Miler, or other TMS systems preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong analytical, math, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced distribution center environment with varying temperatures
