Pharmacy Technician – Specialty (Certified or Registered)

General Summary/Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacists and according to standard procedures, assists in total prescription filling process: data entry, inventory management, counting, labeling, filing and billing of prescribed products.

Coordinates care (with a multi-disciplinary team) directly with patients and caregivers.

Works with other team members and outside entities (insurance companies, PBMs, manufacturers) to obtain/verify patient financial responsibilities.

Delivery to patient homes/treatment sites as directed.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Additional requirements: Preferred educational qualifications: Certified Technician Preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Must be listed as Certified/Registered Pharmacy Technician with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience Prior job title or occupational experience: Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills Able to read and write printed material in English Proficiency with computer keyboard operations Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
