Field Engineer

Join our team as a Field Engineer supporting a Data Center project in Northern LA. This role involves commissioning and qualification of electrical and controls engineering projects, including coordination with subcontractors, PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, and start-up support. You will perform building management system installation, wiring QA/QC verification, and submit package shop drawings and documentation for approval. Expect to engage in point-to-point testing to ensure proper installation of field devices associated with control systems.

Responsibilities:

• Support commissioning and qualification of electrical and controls engineering projects.
• Coordinate with electrical subcontractors and engage in PLC/SCADA/HMI programming.
• Provide commissioning support and start-up for projects.
• Perform building management system installation and wiring QA/QC verification.
• Submit package shop drawings and documentation for approval.
• Conduct point-to-point testing to ensure field devices have been installed properly.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge in controls, schematics, and wire diagrams.
• Understanding of mechanical systems including blowers, pumps, air handlers, pressure, and flow.
• Experience with electrical startup, commissioning, and testing of controls and instrumentation systems including PLC, SCADA, and HMI.

• Willingness and interest in field engineering within industrial and construction environments.
• Excitement about working in the field and gaining hands-on experience.
• Opportunity to work and learn alongside a Senior Engineer.

Work Environment:

The position is based onsite at a data center in Northern LA, a remote area with limited entertainment options. Candidates will work approximately 50 hours per week. The role offers a housing stipend, per diem, and paid trips home every two weeks. Lunch is catered daily at the site, and travel expenses, including airfare for two trips home monthly, are covered with advance booking requirements. Candidates will receive a substantial compensation package due to the urgency of the project.

This is a Contract position based out of Golden, CO.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
