Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a dynamic opportunity to support students’ growth and development as a physical therapist at a vibrant Extended School Year program. This contract position runs from July 6 to August 13, with flexibility available on the start date. You’ll engage with students ranging in age from 3 to 22, ensuring they receive the therapy and encouragement they need to thrive throughout the summer.
In this rewarding environment, expect to dedicate approximately 2.5 days per week on site, working Mondays through Thursdays between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Additionally, your expertise will be vital in providing five hours of home-based physical therapy services for a medically complex student, making a genuine impact outside of the school setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with relevant state certification
- Experience supporting pediatric and school-aged populations
- Comfortable providing both in-school and home-based therapy
- Ability to adapt quickly and work independently within a collaborative educational team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group therapy sessions to students aged 3-22
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other service providers to integrate therapy goals into daily activities
- Assess students’ needs, create treatment plans, and monitor progress
- Conduct home-based PT sessions for a medically complex student, ensuring care is tailored to their unique requirements
- Maintain thorough and accurate records in compliance with program protocols
