Parking Enforcement Officer

About the Position Join the Police Department as a Parking Enforcement Officer and serve our citizens and businesses by using your strong complaint resolution and compliance monitoring skills. This role involves enforcing parking ordinances on foot, bicycle or by vehicle in the downtown central business district and throughout the City, issuing citations for violations, assisting with traffic control, meeting with downtown merchants to hear concerns, and providing professional customer service to the public. It is a 40‑hour workweek position with Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Responsibilities Enforce parking ordinances on foot, bicycle or by vehicle in the downtown central business district and throughout the City Issue citations for violations Assist with traffic control Meet with downtown merchants to hear concerns Provide professional customer service to the public Minimum Qualifications A High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of customer service or dispute resolution experience is required; some college-level coursework in criminal justice or a related field is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description. Licensing Requirements Oregon Driver’s License – Class C Law Enforcement Data System Certificate will be required within 90 days of appointment Benefits The City provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life, retirement, and disability coverage.
