Home Infusion Registered Nurse (Part-Time)

Job Overview Home Infusion Registered Nurse (Part‑Time) – Houston, TX, USA. This position is available for licensed Registered Nurses (RN) and requires a commitment to 20 hours per week, with a minimum of 24 to 30 hours for benefits. Responsibilities Administer Infusions and Injections: Administer specialty medications via IV, subcutaneous injections, or other methods as prescribed, monitoring patients for adverse reactions. Patient Assessment: Review medical history, allergies, and current medications; evaluate vital signs before, during, and after infusions. Education and Counseling: Explain medication usage, side effects, and emergency procedures to patients and caregivers. Patient Monitoring and Follow‑up: Observe patients during and after infusions, schedule follow‑up calls or visits, and adjust care plans as needed. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of infusion processes, patient responses, adverse events, and education provided. Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with nursing teams, pharmacists, and other staff to coordinate treatment plans and report concerns to the clinical nurse supervisor. Medication Management: Prepare and handle medications safely, verify correct medication and dosage, and adhere to safety standards. Quality Control and Safety: Ensure sterile techniques, infection control guidelines, and prevent contamination during medication preparation and administration. Inventory Management: Monitor medication stock levels, coordinate with pharmacy to ensure supply availability. Support for Specialty Medication Services: Assist with insurance verification or authorization processes related to specialty medications. IgCN‑Certified Nurse Duties (if applicable): Participate in CSI’s Immunoglobulin Mentorship Program, serve as a mentor, provide guidance and training, document mentorship activities, and act as a clinical resource during orientation or transition periods. Qualifications College degree/certification required or equivalent experience. RN license with at least 2 years of experience (required). ER/ICU/Infusion experience 1 year (preferred). Experience accessing PIV lines, ports, and maintaining PICC lines – 1 year (required). Infusion experience in a hospital or Home Health setting – 1 year (preferred). Physical Demands The employee regularly talks or hears, stands, walks, sits, climbs stairs, uses hands and fingers, lifts or moves up to 20 pounds, and has close vision with the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Employee will drive daily to patient homes, working in varied residential settings and potentially encountering changing weather conditions.
