Your Role The Site Lead is responsible for the daily management and operational oversight of the consolidation center warehouse, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate execution of all site activities. This role serves as a primary point of contact for the warehouse, coordinating labor, enforcing safety regulations, managing warehouse operations, and providing critical reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs). The Site Lead will play a critical role in maintaining smooth warehouse operations, overseeing inventory and shipments, addressing escalations related to damages, traffic, or other site-specific issues, and ensuring operational goals are consistently met. This is a hands‑on leadership position. While the Site Lead will be responsible for managing and developing the team and overseeing the overall operation, they must also be willing and able to work directly on the warehouse floor and assist with day‑to‑day activities as needed. This will be particularly important during the initial ramp‑up period and during periods of increased volume or staffing needs. The successful candidate must be comfortable moving between leadership, administrative, systems, and hands‑on warehouse responsibilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred; degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field. Proven experience (2+ years) in operations management, preferably within a logistics, distribution, or warehousing environment. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and guide diverse teams. Demonstrated experience managing day‑to‑day warehouse or distribution center operations. Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management systems, shipment tracking platforms, ERP systems, and other logistics‑related software. Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively utilize multiple software platforms to track inventory, shipments, orders, receiving, staging, and other warehouse activities. Experience with inventory control, shipment tracking, order fulfillment, receiving, staging, and warehouse reconciliation. Experience creating, implementing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Proven ability to train teams on SOPs, reinforce adherence, monitor compliance, and address gaps in execution. Exceptional problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage and resolve operational escalations effectively. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and reporting skills. Ability and willingness to be hands‑on and actively support warehouse floor operations when needed. Hazmat handling or experience working with hazardous materials in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, management, customers, vendors, and external partners. Strong computer skills and demonstrated competency with WMS, ERP, inventory management, shipment tracking, reporting, and other warehouse/logistics software applications. Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple software systems and use technology to manage and monitor warehouse operations. Ability to accurately enter, retrieve, reconcile, and analyze inventory, shipment, order, and operational data. Strong understanding of warehouse processes, including receiving, inventory management, staging, order fulfillment, shipment processing, loading/unloading, and consolidation. Proven ability to develop clear and practical SOPs and translate them into effective training and daily operating practices. Ability to ensure employees understand SOP requirements and consistently follow established procedures. Ability to monitor adherence to SOPs through observations, audits, reporting, and performance metrics, and take corrective action when standards are not being followed. Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop diverse teams in a high‑pressure and fast‑paced environment. Resource allocation experience, including effective management of labor, equipment, materials, and warehouse space. High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory, shipment tracking, reporting, order fulfillment, and daily operations. Familiarity with safety protocols in warehouse and distribution center environments, including OSHA regulations, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and safe material‑handling practices. Understanding of regulatory requirements for logistics and warehousing, including quality standards, inventory control, transportation requirements, and legal compliance. Ability to work effectively both independently and alongside warehouse personnel on the floor. Hazmat handling, storage, documentation, or compliance experience is a plus. Key Responsibilities Warehouse & Site Operations Provide daily leadership and direction to the warehouse team. Oversee the day‑to‑day management of the consolidation center warehouse, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient flow of operations. Foster a positive, productive, and safety‑focused work environment. Maintain visibility and control over receiving, inventory, staging, order fulfillment, shipment processing, and other warehouse activities. Be willing and able to step onto the warehouse floor and assist with operational activities as needed, particularly during the initial ramp‑up period, high‑volume periods, or staffing shortages. Lead by example and demonstrate a willingness to perform hands‑on warehouse tasks alongside team members when operational needs require it. Manage team schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels based on operational requirements. Allocate people, equipment, materials, and other resources effectively to meet operational goals. Ensure the right people are assigned to the right roles at the right times to support productivity and service requirements. SOP Development, Implementation & Compliance Create, document, implement, and maintain SOPs for warehouse processes and operational activities. Ensure SOPs are clear, practical, current, and aligned with safety, quality, productivity, and service requirements. Work with management and team members to identify process gaps and develop or update SOPs as operational needs evolve. Train and coach employees on SOPs and ensure they understand not only what the procedures are, but why they are important. Establish clear expectations for SOP adherence and hold team members accountable for following established procedures. Regularly monitor warehouse activities to verify that SOPs are being followed consistently. Conduct process observations, audits, and spot checks to identify deviations from established procedures. Identify recurring compliance or process issues and implement corrective actions, retraining, or process improvements as needed. Track SOP compliance and use operational data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure updated SOPs are communicated effectively and incorporated into ongoing training programs. Lead by example by consistently following established SOPs and safety procedures. Systems, Inventory & Shipment Management Utilize WMS, ERP, inventory management, shipment tracking, and other logistics software to monitor and manage daily operations. Ensure accurate tracking of inventory, shipments, orders, receiving, staging, and related warehouse activity. Monitor system data and physical warehouse activity to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipment issues, and process gaps. Ensure accurate and timely system transactions and reporting. Use warehouse technology and operational data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support informed decision‑making. Maintain accurate records and ensure operational information is consistently captured in the appropriate systems. Support order fulfillment and staging accuracy, on‑time processing, shipment visibility, and inventory accuracy. Safety, Compliance & Hazmat Enforce all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and address safety concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable industry standards. Promote safe material‑handling practices throughout the warehouse. Support appropriate handling, storage, documentation, and movement of hazardous materials when applicable. Hazmat experience is preferred and will be considered a plus. Leadership & Training Train and mentor team members on operational procedures, SOPs, best practices, safety requirements, and system usage. Oversee training programs for staff, ensuring all team members remain current with required skills, compliance standards, SOPs, and operational procedures. Reinforce SOP expectations through ongoing coaching, observation, and performance management. Identify training gaps and provide additional coaching or retraining when employees are not meeting established standards. Provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve individual and team performance. Support employee development and career growth. Mediate conflicts, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. Oversee and manage operational reporting, ensuring relevant data is accurately tracked and analyzed. Track and report key performance metrics, including order fulfillment and staging accuracy, on‑time delivery, processing times, inventory accuracy, and damage/loss rates. Establish and maintain processes for tracking and analyzing operational KPIs. Monitor SOP compliance and incorporate adherence metrics into operational reviews where appropriate. Interpret operational data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve processes and performance. Support escalation communication related to damages, traffic concerns, shipment issues, inventory discrepancies, and other site‑specific issues. Act as a liaison between the warehouse team, management, ESFM, and vendors to ensure timely resolution of operational issues. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining operations, increasing productivity, improving inventory and shipment accuracy, and enhancing overall service quality. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands‑on warehouse and logistics leader who can effectively balance people management, operational oversight, technology, SOP development, and direct floor support. They should be comfortable managing through multiple software platforms, including WMS, ERP, inventory management, and shipment tracking systems, while also being willing to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the warehouse team. This individual must be a process‑oriented leader who understands that creating an SOP is only the first step. They must be capable of training the team on procedures, establishing accountability, regularly monitoring compliance, identifying deviations, and taking corrective action to ensure processes are consistently followed. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable analyzing operational data, managing KPIs, developing and enforcing SOPs, resolving escalations, coaching employees, coordinating vendors, and physically supporting warehouse operations when needed. A strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, adaptability, and willingness to be hands‑on, especially during the initial ramp‑up period, will be critical to success in this role. Compensation for roles at Tobin varies based on factors such as office location, role responsibilities, relevant experience, education, and specific skill sets. As required by local law, Tobin provides a reasonable, good‑faith compensation range for positions hired in Massachusetts and New York.
