Embedded Software Engineer (Avionics)

Salary: $100,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field, with 5+ years of experience.
- Experience developing embedded software with RISC-V and Ultrascale+ (Arm) processors or other low-power microcontrollers, such as PowerPC or TMS320.
- Experience with real-time operating systems, such as VxWorks, Integrity, embedded Linux, Zephyr, or FreeRTOS.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and assembly programming.
- Strong embedded-target development and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of operating-system coding techniques, interfaces, hardware subsystems, and driver development.
- Experience with device drivers, board support packages, boot code, and embedded-system buses and protocols, such as CAN, I2C, SPI, Serial, SpaceWire, and 1553.
- Knowledge of software configuration management and defect-tracking tools, as well as peer-review processes.
- Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment.
- Experience developing formal requirements, design and test documentation, and supporting formal reviews.
- Secret security clearance or higher.
- Availability to work from our Cambridge office and travel to our Lowell office upon request.
- Preferred: Experience with development tools such as GCC and LLVM, static and dynamic analysis tools, and QEMU-based development.
- Develop embedded real-time avionics software and high-performance solutions for resource-constrained targets.
- Build next-generation resilient and fault-tolerant software for undersea, terrestrial, air, hypersonic, and space applications.
- Contribute throughout the software development life cycle, from design and requirements through testing and field deployment.

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (Avionics) for a contract of 12 months or longer. The role is 40 hours per week on a 9/80 schedule, with an hourly rate of up to $100 based on education and experience. The position is based at our Cambridge office, with travel to our Lowell office upon request.
