Adjunct Faculty

Overview Ivy Tech Bloomington campus is seeking nursing professionals who are passionate about teaching the next generation of nurses. This is a part-time adjunct position (approximately 6–12 hours per week) in person at a clinical site or on campus. Adjuncts may work 1–2 days, with hours typically between 7:00 am–5:00 pm. Compensation is $46.75 per contact hour (time in front of students). Responsibilities Create a learning environment that supports students in achieving their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi. Deliver assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. Utilize available technology to enhance instructional methods. Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and learning materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements. Engage with students in meaningful, productive ways to enhance learning and positive student experiences. Implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on student engagement (curricular). Interact professionally with students and colleagues, comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations. Ensure knowledge of and implementation of emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and learning environments. Other duties as assigned, within the parameters of FERPA, applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Qualifications and Credentialing Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license. Master’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred). If holding a Bachelor’s Degree, must be enrolled in a Master’s Degree in Nursing program. Immunization and Certification Requirements Provide documentation of immunity to communicable diseases as required by clinical agencies. Exemptions must be approved by Ivy Tech Community College and clinical agencies. Documentation of current CPR certification, BLS Provider (American Heart Association) or Health Care Provider level (American Red Cross) to be presented at time of hire. Employees missing any requirements are responsible for the cost of obtaining such documentation.
