Principal Product Manager I

Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Principal Product Manager (PPM) will oversee all aspects of a given product portfolio. The PPM is responsible for creating the strategic product roadmap, ensuring stakeholder support, identifying product opportunities, quantifying product results, and driving the timely and accurate delivery of product features. The PPM will collaborate with Product Managers (PM) and Product Architects (PA) to constantly improve the effectiveness, performance, and stability for their product portfolio. Although the PPM is an individual contributor, as a senior member of the product team, the PPM is expected to help coach junior product team members.Job ResponsibilitiesEstablishes, leads, and communicates a clear product vision and roadmap that aligns with department and company goalsEnsures alignment between roadmap, company objectives, and customer needsActively engages with cross-functional teams across business, IT and design to ensure effective product developmentUtilizes data, customer insights, and market feedback to identify opportunities for product feature enhancements.Develops an overall holistic approach to product execution and development and conveys outcomes/goals to the supporting Engineering teamCollaborates with leadership and works to gain cross-functional alignment across the organizationActively manages executive stakeholder engagement - communicates product plans, priorities, and progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and buy-inTrains and develops other product team members on executing Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectivesDefines and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and identify areas for improvementFosters a culture of experimentation, encouraging A/B testing and data-driven decisionsMonitors and manages product and program budgetsAdvocates for and acts as the voice of the customer, leveraging feedback, interviews, and analytics to shape product directionContributes to long-term strategic planning – ensuring that needs of product area are being addressed and invested in.About WalgreensFounded in 1901, Walgreens ( proudly serves nearly 9 million customers and patients each day across its approximately 8,500 stores throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Walgreens has approximately 220,000 team members, including nearly 90,000 healthcare service providers, and is committed to being the first choice for pharmacy, retail and health services, building trusted relationships that create healthier futures for customers, patients, team members and communities.External Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in Product Manager or Technical Product Manager in a matrixed organization leading mid to large size products or High School/GED at least 9 years of experience in Product Manager or Technical Product Manager in a matrixed organization leading mid to large size products.Experience working in an agile environmentExperience directing and motivating resources in a matrix organizationExperience relaying expectations of product features to engineering teamsExperience conducting surveys to determine most appropriate feature to add to a new or existing productExperience working with user groups and scrum team to obtain and analyze user storiesAt least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.At least 3 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership.Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)Preferred QualificationsRetail and customer led product development preferred.We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.The Salary below is being provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Walgreens.
