Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

The Accounts Payable Temporary position provides essential support to the finance team by processing vendor invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining organized financial records. This role assists with invoice matching, data entry, reconciliation, and responding to vendor inquiries. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This temporary position helps ensure smooth day-to-day accounting operations during periods of increased workload or staff coverage needs.

This is a part-time, temporary position with working 24-32 hours per week. Duration of position is 6-8 weeks.

Requirements

Essential duties:

• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, or other disbursements
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and documentation
• Support the finance team with additional duties as needed

Education/Certification Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting software (ERP systems) a plus
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
