Inspector - Level 2

Quality Control Inspector - Level 2 at Honeywell. Ensures quality and compliance of aerospace products and components in San Diego, CA, reporting to the Inspection Supervisor. Operates on a full‑time on‑site schedule. Responsibilities Perform intermediate level visual and dimensional inspections of purchased material, in‑process and finished electronic components, assemblies and sub‑assemblies for drawing requirements and workmanship. Operate intermediate level mechanical and electrical measurement tools such as caliper, micrometers, tool gauges, voltmeters, LCZ meters, video microscopes, measuring microscopes; use X‑Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analysis, solder‑ability tests, manual CMM and plating test analysis. Conduct incoming, in‑process and final inspection of classified devices with security procedures and safety precautions. Assist Quality and Production Engineers in investigations of processes related to quality issues. Complete accurate records on paper and information system, including inspection reports, training records, equipment maintenance logs and corrective actions for continuous improvement. Obtain and maintain internal inspection certifications. Review supplier data for compliance to test parameters, requirements and specified standards. Interface with customer source inspectors. Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices. Improve and maintain 6S in area; suggest improvements. Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area and cross‑functional events. Collaborate in team meetings and support Self Evaluation Team (SET) as appropriate. Provide task‑oriented guidance to entry level workers. Perform other related duties as assigned. Handle confidential material; maintain contacts inside and outside organization. Qualifications Minimum 1–2 years of experience in quality inspection of electronic assemblies. Hands‑on experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and CMMs. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset. Ability to inspect surface finish, coating thickness and structural features. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government security clearance under 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM). Non‑U.S. citizens ineligible for clearance processing. Annual base salary range $52,900 – $66,125. Final offer based on experience, education and market. Active Secret clearance (preferred). Exposure to SAP or other enterprise systems and Microsoft Office (Agile preferred). High School Diploma or GED required. What We Value Experience reading and understanding specifications and inspection criteria. Experience reviewing schematics and mechanical drawings; proposing revisions. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and database applications. Knowledge of Agile and SAP a plus.
