Athletic Advantage is a sports rehabilitation and athletic performance facility serving athletes of all ages and ability levels in eastern Chatham County, North Carolina.

We bring physical therapy, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and sport-specific development together under one roof. Our approach emphasizes individualized care, collaboration, and helping athletes not only recover from injury but return to their sport stronger, more confident, and better prepared to perform.

We're seeking a motivated, independently capable  Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC/LAT)to help establish and grow our Athletic Training and Rehab Lab services.

This is an opportunity to take an active role in developing a rehabilitation program within a growing sports medicine and performance business. Rather than focusing primarily on traditional sideline coverage, this position emphasizes hands-on clinical care, therapeutic exercise, injury rehabilitation, and return-to-sport development.

You'll work collaboratively with our Doctor of Physical Therapy and performance professionals while maintaining appropriate clinical responsibility for your own athletic training services.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working directly with athletes, takes ownership of their work, and is excited about helping build a program from the ground up.

• Evaluate and manage athletic injuries and conditions within the scope of athletic training practice and applicable physician protocols.

• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and return-to-sport programs.
\n
• Lead supervised, semi-private rehabilitation sessions through our developing Rehab Lab.
\n
• Provide therapeutic exercise, functional movement training, injury prevention, and other appropriate athletic training interventions.
\n
• Monitor athlete progress, adjust rehabilitation programming, and document care appropriately.
\n
• Collaborate with physical therapists, strength and conditioning coaches, and sport-specific instructors to coordinate athlete development.
\n
• Help establish Rehab Lab workflows, scheduling, programming, and standards of care.
\n
• Build relationships with athletes, families, coaches, and community organizations.
\n
• Participate in occasional athletic event or team coverage opportunities as appropriate.

• Current Board of Certification (BOC) Athletic Trainer certification (ATC), or eligibility to obtain certification before beginning employment.
\n
• Current North Carolina Athletic Trainer licensure (LAT), or eligibility to obtain licensure before beginning clinical duties.
\n
• Master's degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited professional program, or a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training through a previously accredited professional pathway.
\n
• Strong understanding of orthopedic injury management, therapeutic exercise, and functional rehabilitation.
\n
• Excellent communication, organization, and clinical decision-making skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
\n

Please note: This position requires professional Athletic Trainer credentials. An undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field alone does not qualify an applicant for this position.

• Experience in outpatient sports medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation, or sports performance.
\n
• Experience working with youth, adolescent, and competitive athletes.
\n
• Familiarity with progressive return-to-sport programming, strength and conditioning, and movement assessment.
\n
• Interest in program development, community engagement, and growing a clinical service line.

• Compensation: Revenue-based compensation structured around 40% of collected Athletic Training service revenue, subject to applicable employment and wage requirements.
\n
• Schedule: Initially part-time, with flexible scheduling based on program demand.
\n
• Growth: Opportunity to expand responsibilities and earnings as the rehabilitation program develops.

This isn't a traditional athletic training position where your primary responsibility is covering practices and games.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape a new clinical service, work closely with other sports medicine and performance professionals, and develop meaningful relationships with athletes throughout their rehabilitation and return-to-performance journey.
