MRO Site Sourcing Leader

Job Description Summary The MRO Site Sourcing Leader will lead Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sourcing for the Schenectady, NY site. The role involves driving competitive bids and negotiations consistent with established commodity strategies to secure the best quality, delivery, pricing, and commercial terms with key suppliers. The leader will partner with functional stakeholders in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Finance, Supply‑Chain, and other areas to deliver excellent service levels and ensure supplier fit. The position reports to the MRO Global Category Leader and collaborates with the Sourcing team on sourcing efforts, RFQ processes, and supplier selection. Essential Responsibilities Collaborate with Global and Regional Commodity Leaders to develop negotiation strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals. Work collaboratively with cross‑functional stakeholders to implement sourcing strategies. Utilize in‑depth subject‑matter knowledge and analytical thinking to execute policy and strategy. Serve as a resource for internal stakeholders and less experienced colleagues. Explain information and ensure adherence to sourcing policies and procedures. Operate with autonomy while meeting quality, volume, and timeliness standards; propose solutions outside set parameters for complex day‑to‑day problems. Prioritize data for analysis and use multiple internal and external sources to arrive at decisions. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or a high‑school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in the relevant Job Family Group/Function. 3–5 years of experience in a supply‑chain or sourcing role. 3–5 years of experience in negotiations. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Proficiency in collaborating cross‑functionally to implement and drive process improvements. Self‑starter with proven ability to set and execute priorities. Desired Characteristics Experience in strategic sourcing. Experience in MRO sourcing. Experience in maintenance or tool crib operations. Established project management skills. Strong data analysis and Excel skills. Six sigma certification or experience with Lean tools. Ability to forecast and analyze usage data and establish min/max inventory levels. Benefits & Compensation Relocation assistance: Yes. Pay range: $94,600.00–$157,700.00 (geographic differential may apply). Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
