Collections Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a client in Columbus, OH seeking a personable and motivated professional to join their team in Collections. This role involves traditional collection responsibilities, but the right personality and communication style are especially important. You’ll spend your day connecting with businesses and individuals regarding outstanding balances, following up on payment commitments, and working toward resolution. The ideal candidate knows how to be persistent without losing the customer-service mindset and can make payment conversations feel professional, respectful, and productive. Previous collections experience is welcomed, but our client is also interested in candidates who have developed strong people skills through customer service, retail, hospitality, or leadership positions. What You’ll Do: Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and secure payment on past-due accounts Consistently follow up on open balances, payment arrangements, and customer commitments Build rapport with customers while confidently navigating conversations about payment Research account questions or discrepancies and work toward timely resolution Partner with internal departments to resolve issues that may be impacting payment Maintain accurate documentation of collection activity, conversations, and account updates What We’re Looking For: Experience in collections, customer service, retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing position Strong communication skills and the confidence to discuss outstanding balances and request payment Positive, upbeat personality with a natural ability to connect with different types of people Ability to be persistent and results-focused while maintaining excellent customer service Previous lead, supervisory, or management experience is a plus Strong organizational skills, follow-through, and ability to work effectively as part of a team “Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to #J-18808-Ljbffr
